In September 2019, as devastating bushfires swept across Australia, communities on both sides of the Tasman came together in support. During this time, Mokopuna Merino™ was proud to contribute to Australian bushfire relief efforts, standing alongside families, volunteers, and organisations working tirelessly to help those affected.
Chief executive, Campbell Gower, says Mokopuna™ is a brand that advocates natural fibres and takes in all that is good about nature, which is why so much pain and anguish has been felt of the terrible damage caused to Australian wildlife.
“Though New Zealand based, we knew there was something we could do to alleviate the suffering of a few and contribute to the rebuild of our much-loved neighbour.”
In response, a limited-edition collection affectionately named Aroha was created, with 100% of proceeds donated to WWF to support their vital, ongoing efforts to rescue wildlife and help affected ecosystems recover.
Mokopuna’s in-house designer developed a very special print that beautifully portrays three distinctive Australian animals, the koala, wombat, and kangaroo, powerfully symbolising the strength and spirit of the innocent lives affected.

The limited-edition Aroha collection is available in two of the brand’s most popular styles and has been printed locally in Wellington using eco-friendly inks.
